Fitting the AL-KO iQ7 system allows the legal use of hydraulic disc brakes for towed vehicles and trailers over 2 tonne in Australia and 2.5 tonne in New Zealand, and also provides superior stopping performance.

Drum Brakes
- If drum brakes are being used, a residual line pressure valve (obtain from a brake specialist) must be installed in the hydraulic line. This must be located BEFORE any split in the hydraulic line immediately after or as close as practical to the master cylinder port.
AL-KO has addressed this, not only through its advanced iQ7 electronic controller but, by utilising a compressed air reservoir to provide instant activation of the hydraulic master cylinder. This has resulted in an unparalleled response time.
Only AL-KO iQ7 stores compressed air within a pressure chamber, allowing immediate brake application the instant it is required.
Maximum hydraulic pressure is 6.9 mpa (1000psi) and fluid displacement of 21cc. Check that the pressure available is adequate for the brakes being used and the number of brakes does not exceed the available fluid displacement.

This is the 3rd generation of REDARC’s Tow-Pro brake controller with the original released in June 2014 and the acclaimed Tow-Pro Elite released in September 2015.This next-generation Tow-Pro Elite retains the same name as its predecessor and continues to set the benchmark in trailer brake control technology which has seen it become Australia’s favourite and most trusted brake controller.
Like previous generations, the new Tow-Pro Elite provides users with the ability to swap between Proportional mode (inertia sensing) for highway driving conditions and User-Controlled mode for off-road driving.

New-look control knob
The main enhancements to the upgraded Tow-Pro Elite relate to the size and installation of the user interface (remote head). A change to the shape, length, size and depth of the remote head will allow a quicker and easier installation of the Tow-Pro Elite. It also ensures the remote head will fit into thicker and curved dashes found in European vehicles and trucks.
The new Tow-Pro Elite V3 is also designed to work with modern vehicles and selected TPSI switch inserts and TPW wiring kits.
If you are using an ALKO iQ7 braking system, a red on/off/on/off flashing sequence has been added to the Tow Pro Elite as a fault code that can indicate a fault of the hydraulic/pneumatic system. Please check for faults in brake lines and electrical supply to the pneumatic pump according to the manual for the iQ7 brake actuator. More info here
